 The cure is far away, but we can beat cancer little by little everyday. Through prevention efforts (1/3 of all cancers can be prevented) and making healthy choices everyday (limiting alcohol consumption, quitting smoking, avoiding cosmetics and house/baby care products with toxic ingredients…). We can beat cancer by supporting patients, not allowing it to take our hope, our love, our identity.

 Through my job I get in touch with many cancer patients and all of them (ALL of them!) are fighting, none of them are giving up! 

We may think there is not much we can do as individuals to help them, to support them; and true, though we cannot give them their health back, we can stand up alongside them and help fight with them. 

This is why I’m running: to tell cancer patients and survivors that they are not alone! My thoughts are with them everyday and I will fight with them everyday! I will let other people know about their struggles and their stories, they won’t be “cancer patients” anymore, but people with their own identities and network of friends.  

Great is the victory, but the friendship of all is greater
